The Archive
In 1953, something woke up in the forest.
The atomic tests were classified. What crawled out of them
wasn't. Within forty-eight hours, the U.S. Forest Service —
working under Civil Defense liaison — opened a program to
catalog, contain, and negotiate with the populations that had
stopped hiding.
Over six years, Wildwood field agents documented four distinct
factions. The program was quietly wound down in 1961. Its
files were sealed. Its agents were retired. The populations
continued to exist — and continued to hide behind what field
operators called the Veil of Fog.
The Veil held for seventy years. Then it didn't. The
live Sasquatch Wars picks up the story in the
present. The Field Set in your hands is the prehistory.
